What pictures are you looking at every day?

I read years ago about the difference between having a goal and having a goal with a commitment and a plan to achieve it. Ever since I made this distinction, I've searched for photos or images of the things I'm working towards and pinned them full size to the wall behind my office desk. It could be a picture of a destination that I want to take my family, an image that represents autonomy and freedom with my time or even a car.

I'm looking right now at an image of a room that I really liked. I searched Google for "game room" and printed a picture of a room with vaulted ceilings, tons of windows and lots of light. I watched one of my favorite TV shows with my wife in a room at our new house that looks quite similar just last night. I was determined to have a room like that, so I committed to making it happen, looked at it daily and then made it happen.

What pictures are you looking at every day?

What goals are you working towards? Have you made a commitment to achieving them? Are you "setting and forgetting" or are you looking daily at that picture as a reminder to work hard and achieve your goal.

I've had pictures that have helped me be a better dad, husband, friend, business owner and follower of Christ. I've also had pictures that just get me excited about a thing, experience or achievement. It is a simple strategy, but it works.

So, really, what pictures are you looking at?

Have a great week,

Todd
