Our massive renovation/addition project has raced to an early start as the lender is requiring some repairs before closing and I've agreed to do them in exchange for a discount on our purchase price from the seller/previous owner.
First, we have some leveling of the foundation to do:
Yes, that is real and I'm knowingly buying it. My experience tells me that opportunities typically lie in the situations where things are too complicated, hard or scary for other folks to get involved. It is also an easy fix.
We also have to sand and paint the detached (currently) garage:
It looks a little rough now, but it is actually very well built and will be a great garage when we are finished.
Stay tuned for updates to the rest of the home as we are literally changing every inch of the house to make it our home. The bulk of the project will start in a few weeks, but preparations for permits, materials, vendors and timing are happening now.
