Our family is part of a small group that we go to church with and that cares for and encourages each other. Our group gets together every Sunday night for "family dinner." Let's just say last night's dinner was a doozie. I started the craziness by cooking a huge pot of seafood gumbo in the dead heat of summer, but that actually went over well. We had all kinds of good food including some homemade sweets and a salad dressing we all considered drinking from a straw.
There were six kids under four years old, one giant fort built and lots and lots of screaming.
While at the dinner table, I referred two auto mechanics to one person and a reliable plumber to another person. This happens pretty much wherever I go, but I love it. I love being a connector of people and I enjoy being the "go to guy" for important contacts and solutions. I was also reminded that all of the people I recommended were at one point referred to me.
