You should stop today and do something ridiculously fun. It should have absolutely nothing to do with your work. I was reading about the way the human mind works and how American culture has become so overwhelmed with constant thought, work and progress that folks never "shut off" the productive thinking areas of their brain. The article mentioned that the only effective way to let that part of our mind rest is to engage in "non language" thinking combined with physical movement and activity.

I understand that this might sound a little weird and possibly even "out there," but I gave it a test run a couple of days ago.

I had a consulting client in town and we were really digging in on the material I was presenting. He was thrilled, but overwhelmed and asked for "a little mental break." I immediately remembered this article and suggested we get out of the office and do something "ridiculous." He surprisingly agreed and we headed over to the indoor pistol range. I'm not kidding.

We had a ton of fun and actually both felt completely energized and ready to dig back in for more intense learning and business development for him. It was a perfect yet slightly ridiculous break.

Will you test this on yourself and let me know how it works? I'm thinking about making this a regular thing.  Let me know what you try and what your results are.

Have a fantastic day,
