My little guy and I have a little garden that we planted in the back yard this year. It is actually pretty impressive and we are getting a lot of "fruit" from it. However, we have some pesky birds that keep stealing our ripe tomatoes and strawberries. My son is not happy about it. He shouts "Go way bud!" whenever a bug, bird or airplane shadow comes near our garden.

Scarecrow

So, we build a scarecrow. Yes, a good old-fashioned scarecrow. Cowboy hat, old shirt, shorts and wooden frame. The little dude even drew angry red eyes on him and believe it or not, I actually witnessed it work last night. Scared the heck out of a little bird.

This whole project reminded me of how some people in our lives swoop in and steal the "fruit" in our lives too.  We even run into this with clients who are not ideal for our service. You don't want to necessarily scare people away, but what are you doing to protect the joy and "fruit" in your life from the takers?

In my life, I'm surrounded by great folks who care about me and at work we are careful to interview all prospective clients to ensure a two way fit.

What are you doing to keep your fruit?

Have a great week,
