Hey folks,
I was asking my wife yesterday if she thinks I have perfect timing. Every time I go by the new house to check on the work, one of the contractors says "...perfect time to drop by. I need to know if you want that window here or way over there." After giving him the answer, I always think "did I just drive up at the perfect time or is this going on all day long and these dudes are just winging it?
I'm partially kidding, because things are coming along nicely, but it is a real question I ask myself. The other obvious lesson you re-learn every time you remodel a home is that new is better than old. Brilliant right? Every contractor and every vendor say "it would be better if we just replaced all of it." This applies to roof, plumbing, electrical, siding, concrete, brick, windows, landscaping etc. Well, one way of looking at things is to agree that new is better. The other way of looking at things is "I have a budget brochacho!"
All in all, we are moving along as expected. We expected some delays and some surprises and there have been both, but none that have been devastating and mostly positive anyway.
