This past weekend we took the kids to Galveston and jam packed a few days full of super fun "adventures."  We rode the Ferris wheel on the Pleasure Pier, hunted treasure on the beach, ate ice cream on The Strand and even bought lighted swords with Star Wars sounds. But, the most entertaining moments for me were the hours we spent at Schlitterbahn.  While the kids enjoyed the water slides, the lazy river (not that lazy actually), and the wave pool, I enjoyed the people watching.

It was truly amazing and at times shamefully comical.

I saw so many children that looked like, acted like and visibly wanted to be like their parents.  It got me thinking about my children and then beyond that to the other people that I have the privilege and responsibility to impact.

What are they striving to look like, act like and be?  What am I modeling? How am I helping or hurting them?  I sure hope they see Jesus in me.  I hope they see a man who wants them to succeed.  I hope they see a man who cares about them more than he cares about himself, fame, fun or fortune.

I took the "Schlitterbahn Principle" to heart.  I hope you do too.

Have a great day,

Todd
