I was wrong. I really was. I have always watched those pickup truck commercials on TV where they back the truck up and then drop about 1,000 pounds of rocks or wood or dirt into the back all at once and thought to myself, "nobody does that."
I was corrected in my way of thinking this weekend as I went to pick up some garden soil. We paid for the dirt, backed the truck into the spot where we were directed and then completely freaked out when a bulldozer drove up with a full bucket and got within two inches of the side of the truck. Then this guy raises the bucket 15 feet in the air and (I guarantee he whispered boom or booyah or something like that) dropped it all at once into the back of the truck.
It was awesome! My little guy was in the back seat celebrating like we just won the Superbowl (no comment.) I literally thought those commercials were over the top demonstrations, but apparently people actually do that stuff all day long every day. It got me thinking...
What areas of my life am I considering "unrealistic, impossible or not likely?" What areas of your life, goals and relationships seem too far fetched to make them actually happen? I know I could be a better husband, dad, employer and friend.
