I'm a big high fiver. Before you delete this, follow me for a second. I've always been big on offering high fives to friends, but I also go out of my way to high five strangers whenever I can and I've found that it stirs up great conversations. It also cheers folks up instantly in many cases.
When ordering at a restaurant, I usually follow their standard "can I help you" question with "you want to start with a high five?" They virtually always smile and laugh. Then, they remember me next time I come in. Checkout lines, youth ministry kids, folks I'm interviewing to work on our team, folks who are interviewing me to sell their home, I use it all the time.
What is your go to move for cheering folks up and warming up relationships?
I dare you to give out 3 unexpected high fives today and report back to me how it works out.
Have a great day,
Todd Tramonte
