I was driving to work this morning and heard a radio show host/dj mention that he knew something like the back of his hand. It got me thinking... how well do I really know the back of my hand? Am I the only person who honestly couldn't draw a bunch of distinguishing characteristics of my own hand? Did I miss some key instruction in elementary school, high school, or even graduate school? Why haven't I studied the back of my hand?

Then, I started thinking about the desired meaning of the statement. People say this when they are communicating that they really know a subject, idea, or maybe even part of town very very well. They want the listener to know that they are tremendously familiar with the subject matter. This reminded me of a concept we use here at my office where each team member focuses on what we call a "masters." We chose a subject or area of our lives / business where we want to grow our level of understanding, or even increase our level of mastery.

We believe this is how to separate ourselves from the hundreds of thousands of status quo real estate agents out there. We obsess over learning and practicing the skills that are developed from learning.

What area do you want to grow, learn, and develop mastery? Really, what areas? I'd love to help if at all possible. I have a large library of books, videos, audio programs and am familiar with countless other educational and training resources I'd be happy to share with you or point you towards.

So, how can I help you grow your mastery?

Have a great day,

Todd Tramonte
