Are you still waiting?

I've always had this nagging thought that people "Wait until..." too many things. We wait until:

we get our drivers license

we get out of high school

we get out of college

we get a job

we get a raise

we get married

we have kids

we get a promotion

we have the kids out of the house

we retire

we...

I was at a truly great gathering of leaders at church this weekend and it struck me that most importantly in my faith, but also important in my business is the willingness to call things like they are - the truth.

The truth is that there are several areas of my life where I need to do better. I need to stop "waiting until" something triggers a change. I need to eat better, drink less Dr. Pepper, reach out to friends who don't live near, challenge my closest community and respond to the sharpening of others who care for me.

In real estate, we have clients who want to "wait until" rates get lower, prices come down, inventory goes up, spring comes around, school lets out, or the dreaded "timing is perfect." Here's a piece of advice from me to you. Nothing is ever perfect in this world. Real estate is a world-class investment if you are financially prepared and represented by a true expert with character and integrity and now is an incredible time to both buy and sell which is a rare combination.

Don't wait to buy or sell a home, but also don't wait to grow, challenge a friend or spouse to grow, and don't be afraid of the discomfort that not waiting brings.
