Mohawk, Cheyenne, Cherokee, Apache…those are just a few names of the streets that led to the neighborhood nickname, The Reservation. This highly sought after neighborhood is in a fantastic location in a beautiful area of Northwest Richardson, TX between Coit and Waterview (East to West), and between Melrose and Arapaho (North to South). The streets wind with character and are draped with mature trees. Many residents refer to the Reservation as a hidden forest, as the streets are lined with majestic sycamore, oak, pecan and magnolia trees. Cottonwood Creek runs through the east side of the community and winds through Mimosa Park, the neighborhood park which includes soccer and baseball fields, a playground, a tennis court and a picnic area.
The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) is located about a mile away from The Reservation, and the community has easy access to major freeways (and tollways) including: The Dallas North Tollway to the west, George Bush Turnpike (190) to the north, I-635 to the south, and Central Expressway (75) to the east. The new Texas Instruments campus is just a few miles away, and the telecom corridor is a short commute.
Over the last few years the neighborhood has seen a renewal of young families, some of whom grew up in, or near the Reservation. They enjoy being close to all that Dallas has to offer, yet they are able to maintain the “hometown” feel all value so highly. The Reservation is proud to have Mohawk Elementary and J.J. Pearce High School, both award-winning exemplary schools, in the neighborhood.
The Reservation neighborhood in Richardson, TX is comprised of 752 households with a median household income of $94,139.
